Brother I’m Dying is about a girl who leaves America to go live back in her home country. Leaving her family behind to live with guy she really loves. While she’s gone her father gets really sick, she leaves Haiti to come to America to take care of her father. Not knowing that she is pregnant. When she took her father to the doctors that’s where all the drama had started. Not trying at home she finds out she is pregnant. To worried to tell her father or even her husband.
Edwidge Danticat is a girl who left back to her home country but came back to help her father, Joseph Dantica go through his serious throat cancer. Joseph is one of the two guys who get really sick and who are so close of dying. This is a serious situation for the whole family and is really hard to go through. After back and forth from the doctor Edwidge finds out she just might be pregnant but to scared to mention anything to her family. She wonders if her dad is going to die she wonders if they all are. Edwidge scared of loosing the person she is really close to.
This whole problem in the family has got everybody thinking. Joseph thinking of selling the house and Edwidge thinking of how to tell everyone she is pregnant. The Danticat family have a lot of these family meetings and not a single one has Edwidge mentioned a thing. Everyday matters get worse her father is having problems breathing and finds out he has a tumor. With lots of secrets and lots of drama no one know s the truth.
In all of this adventurous moment Joseph now has a voice box so he can talk in. very surprising how he survived this really bad sickness. This book really had lots of feeling into it and I took as there are people out there who are going through the same thing or that don’t survive a tumor at all. Plus they have the baby into the family witch just brought more stress. This whole situation will end up good if there aren’t much secrets during the process.
This book is everything its drama, sadness, madness, and more. This book if fun to read and there are lots of interesting things to read. I never liked reading before but when it came sown to this book I couldn’t stop. I think you should read this book because its more than just someone dying its something that can happen to anyone and its something you would get in to real fast.
